Our work in the Dominican Republic launched in 2011 with the sending of a team of more than 15 short term missionaries with no significant training to the DR. The spirit of the Lord led us to rescue more than 15 children in less than 3 weeks. Our future plans include partnerships with local ministries that are being formed now. The long term goal is to provide support to safe houses as well as assist in rescue operations through street outreach. The biggest need in DR is jobs as most of the women have no opportunity beyond prostitution. We are diligently working on new micro-capital enterprises for all of Latin America to meet this need here as well as in several other LA countries where women are selling themselves due to lack of opportunity.
12/2012 UPDATE...we have connected a Canadian partner ministry with our partners in the DR..this will provide funding to rescue and restore many children suffering as sex slaves in the DR..the Lord also opened the door for us to connect 2 long term missionaries currently in the DR to come along side and serve.
