I have spent the last 5 days in Haiti..it has been bittersweet. The purpose was a rescue operation to return an abducted child of a local Port Au Prince pastor to his family. The intel was that he was being held in a local orphanage. Several days of on site work including breaking into the directors home netted nothing. No sign of the child. If there is good news it is that while we were here a judge opened a case on this child after 3 years of the govt. doing nothing. 4 perps were arrested immediately and yet 3 years later they have never been interviewed despite remaining behind bars. Our hope is that they will put pressure on them or cut a deal with 1 of them to finally give these parents the peace of truth whatever it is. Beyond the rescue the Lord definitely showed me much, 2 years after the earthquake the country remains in shambles but I am told it was so even before the earthquake. There are spiritual issues involved for sure which you can read about on my personal facebook page...I saw that even in the darkest of places the light of God is shining bright..the local churches worship until 1 AM many nights singing out to our God. They have less than nothing yet I found them to have more joy than most of the people I know who have everything. I believe this is due to their need of God to provide even the most basic necessities of life. My heart aches that the child was not found but I believe we did all that we could and that our prayers have opened the case which i trust will soon be solved. If nothing else what I experienced has changed my life..the Haitians will hold a special place in my heart and be in my prayers and my faith grew as I saw what the Lord is doing through His body here!
